Project Share

An Easy Way to Multiply Your Donation to
Greene County Christian Outreach
Support Salvation Army’s Project SHARE by adding $1, $5, $10 or more to your monthly Georgia Power electric bill payment and Georgia Power will match 150% of your donation. (Georgia Power residential customers only.)

As the Salvation Army’s agent for Greene County, GCCO uses Project Share funds to assist Greene County residents in need of temporary assistance with rent, utilities, temporary housing, etc.  So, for each $10 that you donate, GCCO can provide $25 in assistance.

You can enroll as a donor in Project SHARE by calling the Georgia Power number printed on the top of your bill, or enroll online as described below. The amount you select will be automatically added to your utility bill each month until you cancel. If you prefer to make a one-time donation, call 1-800-257-4273.

What is Project Share?

Project SHARE provides financial relief to support to those facing a temporary crisis. In 2022, the program distributed over $2 million statewide to help over 15,000 Georgians in need. It provides emergency assistance to our neighbors who need help with basic necessities – housing, food, medical care and utility services. The program assists the elderly, the disabled, the unemployed, the sick and others who are experiencing financial hardship.
How does Project SHARE work? Clients in need apply for Project SHARE assistance at The Salvation Army office in their county. In those counties where The Salvation Army does not maintain offices, Project SHARE requests are processed by approved local agencies. Eligibility requirements for Project SHARE recipients are set by The Salvation Army.
Project SHARE is administered by The Salvation Army and is funded by electric utility customers who donate through their monthly electric bills. All contributions are forwarded to The Salvation Army.
